      In the first article, Understanding Rhetoric: A Graphic Guide to Writing, I understood that through the growth of English there has been many perspectives and ideas surrounding what the word “rhetoric means”. And like with many words, one word can mean many different things based on where the specific word is being used. The Greeks, had different implications around what it meant for something to be rhetoric. The developing of rhetoric came from two very known ancient greeks, Aristotle and Pluto. Pluto being Artisole teacher influenced a lot of Artisotle perspectives but their perspective on this differed. Pluto believed that “rhetoric is intended only to hide flaws, not encourage self improvement” as well as it only gave space for “empty, unwholesome distractions that took away from important philosophical and civil matters”. Where as Aristole, viewed it is as a way for people to see the wrong and choose to do better because they have seen the consequences of that. Despite, their opposition Aristole still continued to believe that rhetoric was a fundamental aspect of education which later influenced him to develop three important arguments in English now, pathos, logos, and ethos. Essentially comparing what the word “rhetorical” means to a lot of people is that if something is rhetorical it is something that does not necessarily need to be responded to and has little to no importance, however needs to be said. From my understanding of the graphic guide, rhetoric has influenced a lot of the fundamentals of English and continues to be something that is misunderstood by most.
      In the second article,  “Understanding Visual Rhetoric in Digital Writing Environments” , I understand that teachers and professors are using teaching the aspects of rheteric through the technical advancements available to us now. They are requiring students to use their imagination and creativity to visual understand messages. . Teachers use digital images to shows specific messages to theirs students students and create a debatable environment in the classroom. The authors are also implying that rhetoric is used in our everyday life many times not know by most it is happening.
